joss (3244), Garching b. München, Germany Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Dried prune and light wood aroma. Hazy orange amber. Wooden base, drunken christmas cake, burned sugar. Solid boody, slightly oily mouthfeel. A hint roast retronasal. Quite enjoyable.
kappldav123 (1170), Markkleeberg, Germany Oct 13, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts strong and yeasty, modest fruity. Finish is strong-yeasty, a bit prickly, could be a little bit more fruity, but still a really good beer! pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany May 31, 2008 Bottle (courtesy of joss !): Chestnut-amber coloured, small to mid-sized, quite fluffy off-white head; caramelly and caramalty nose with a vinous background, completed by dried fruits and a faint tinge of hops; full bodied, creamy MF, moderate sweet, slightly bitter flavour; dried fruits, wine, caramel. hops and traces of alcohol in the finish. Well quaffable Weizen Bock........... MoritzF (4019), Ruhrpott, Germany May 21, 2008 (33cl bottle) Hazy, murky brown colour with a mid-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet and slightly yeasty wheaty nose with dried fruits (prunes) and cloves. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, full bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Slightly yeasty, wheat-malty and toasty taste with dried fruity notes; sweet and bitter-tart finish with light toasted and fruity notes and restrained phenolic spice; the alcohol is noticeable but also well-integrated. Decent Weizendoppelbock (21.05.08).
