very light color for a porter.sweet malty nose with some berries. flavor and body are strange...more like a strong ale than a porter. there are no coffee or burnt flavors to be found ( and i tried...a lot) it’s very smooth and well balanced with light hoppiness to balance. there’s a lot of dried fruit/ strawberries and red wine especially when it warms and the alcohol comes out. note...i tried this the same night with Yulesmith winter and it tasted better, yes better. it is a less sweet version of the highly rated beer you cherish so much. if it were bottled as a strong ale it would be a 4.5 at least. but, because it’s a bad porter, it’s only 3.2

Bottle. Dark brown with a collapsing medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, berries and a bit of dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet with malt, some caramel, a bit of cocoa. Some alcohol in the finish. Medium-full-bodied.

Thanks to brewfiend for sharing. Pours a clear reddish brown brew with an small off-white head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, medium malt, brown sugar, and a touch of musty old brewery scent. Taste is smooth and sweet with a roasted sweet-malt after taste. My first taste of a Baltic Porter.

Found at the Coffee Grounds in Eau Claire, WI. A malty nose on this one. Sweet malty body that reminded me more of a weak barleywine than a porter.

50 cl bottle. Reddish dark amber colour with a little weak head. Light aroma of little roastedness and hints of alcohol. Sweet malty flavour with notes of alcohol, not much of a porter...

[bottle] Brown colour. Frothy head. Aroma is sweet toffee and liquorice. Smooth and sweet flavour. Some roastiness and hints of liquorice. Some alcohol in the finish. Tastes more like a Bock than a Porter.

OK porter. Rich yet not all that dark, looks and can pass as a brown. Good head, carmel with bitterness felt along with sugar and on the overdone side. Drinkable, not all that complex, medium mouthfeel.
