A bit thin for my tastes.
Has an overall generic feel to it and in fact the bottle label says "premium quality dark beer" about 20 times, just in case you don’t get it.
If you have to remind the drinker that many times, maybe you are afraid to let the beer speak for itself. joergen (8709), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 28, 2006 From 500mL Bottle. Pours a transparent deep brown color with an unusual ruby tinge, topped with a tall layer of cream foam. Some light chocolates mingle with a hint of anise, creating an aromatic sensation of chocolate twizzlers. A touch of tootsie roll is in there as well. Mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side, and brings traits from the nose straight to the palate. An additional accompaniment of molasses dipped, toasted hazelnuts and black pepper spice rounds out a mildly oaky finish. tronraner (1939), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 28, 2006 Bottle. Pours dark brown-amber with a big fizzy tan head. The aroma is whiskey, raisins, some toast, and burnt sugar. The flavor is quite malty with burnt sugar, prune, some faint oak hints, and a sweet finish. The aftertaste is quite dry. Not bad. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 21, 2006 Before I saw what style it was, I thought to myself, "sure smells like a Baltic Porter". Aroma reminds me of Baltika 6, but perhaps not as strong but more refined. Huge tan head that mostly diminishes, but it takes awhile. Clear, dark reddish brown body. Sweet, roasted malt, molasses flavor. A little on the cloying side. Not as good as Baltika 6. Still, a pretty decent brew; I’m guessing if I spent a couple of weeks in Lithuania that this would be a welcome respite from my bland lager hell (pun intended). I’ve been drinking nothing but malty, sugary strong brews of late, and I yearn for the hop. Not going to get it from Utenos Porter. A little oily in the mouthfeel. Alcohol profile is considerable. Just a little too one dimensional sugary roasted malt without balance. Mklein818 (165), Etterbeek, Virginia, Belgium
