Deep reddish brown colour, not as dark as many other Baltic porters, large light brown head. Malty sweet aroma, hints of roastiness, dried dark fruits and bakery. Very sweet and malty flavour, verging on "cloying" but is not over the hilltop. Just enough hops to keep my interest. Mellow and rounded mouthfeel, again associations of something out of a bakery. Faint hints of roastiness and coffee in the background. I’m not quite sure what to make of this beer - maybe too sweet, but still pleasant enough to convince me to buy it again on a day my "sweet tooth" needs to be satisfied. barenada (211), Georgetown, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2005 (bottle) Very malty and sweet. There might have been some chocolate and/or coffee flavor under all that malt, but I couldn’t be sure. Mouthfeel was creamy and sticky. Finished like it had a higher ABV than it really did. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Bottle. Pours dark caramel rust brown with a small fizzy tan head that mostly diminishes quickly. Dark roasted chocolate and caramel malt aroma with sweaty yeast notes and fruit (plum, raisin) as well with some port on the nose. Bitter and lightly acidic dry sweet caramel malt and port prune flavor with some fusel alcohols. Medium to full bodied with a fizzy palate that finishes dry. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 16, 2005 bottle...brown pour, looks like a brown ale. Medium tan head. Roasted malt aroma, some chocolate malt, and some dark pit fruits. Sugary sweet start, leading to roastiness in the middle and fairly strong alcoholic finish. Definitely not the run of the mill baltic porter. Lots of different flavors and aromas going on. rickgordon (3342), Göteborg, Sweden

Dark brown with a tint of red. The big creamy foam leaves a delicat blanket inside the glass. Aroma is indeed malty, but not very stylistic to the Porter Family. Notes of fruits in aroma as well. Big diacetyl in flavour, that totally kills any eventual flavour. Butterscotch in balance is nice but this was too much. kramer (2530), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2005 16.9 oz bottle. Pours a deep brown, with ruby highlights at the edges, small off white head that fades to a thin film. Not very dark for a Baltic Porter. Aroma is very sweet, with hints of caramel, and heavy alcohol scent akin to a barleywine. Smells like this will be very syrupy. A rather potent aroma, just not very pleasing. First sip confirms syrupyness. Flavor is rather portlike, with a syrupy sweet cloying mouthfeel. Very heavy alcoholic finish. None of the roasted coffee or dark chocolate aspects that I find pleasing in a Baltic Porter. I’m not really sure this even fits the category. More like a thin barleywine without all the hops. Not very good, and not very drinkable in general. MullMan (1088), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA
