The particularly rich taste and aroma of this beer has been admired by connoisseurs for many years. Utenos Porter offers exceptional indulgence.

Specialiu būdu paruoštas karamelinis salyklas suteikia šiam alui malonų aromatą ir sodrią spalvą. Pagamintas pagal tradicinį porterio receptą iš rinktinių aukščiausios kokybės žaliavų.

Bottle from Rasputin’s, Ipswich. Distinct treacle aroma on opening, pours a very deep ruby brown with a good head. Caramelised, quite thick and rich. Some carbonation, though head soon disappeared. Quite strong at 6.8% which comes through as you drink.

Beautiful dark brown beer with a welcoming persistent foam. Trying to look like a porter, but it did not quite succeed. Tastes like an average dark lagers without major fluctuations. An ok beer, just not contain the greatest taste.

On tap at Grand Duke’s (Summit, IL). Hazy, dark brown body with a thin, off-white foaly head. Decent malty aroma with hoppy and brown sugar hints. Taste carries brown sugar, plummy, and woody notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Not bad.

Again, my grateful thanks to Cantabrian for this experience. This porter was sampled after a distinctly more muscular Baltic Porter and suffered because of it. It appears a hazy dark caramel with a temporary brownish head and aromas more dwelling on that caramel than its predecessor’s oil, salt and cocoa. The body was thinner and had, guess what, caramel to the flavour but was not unpleasant. Its finish was sweetish. An altogether different beast.

500ml bottle. Deep reddish brown with a fizzy tan head that quickly disappeared. Aroma is alcohol and caramel, taste is sweet, dark fruit, caramel and a little liquorice. Good, but not great

500 ml bottle from Binny’s Marcie St. poured in an English pint glass. Pours dark ruby with thin dissipating head. Little aroma. Flavor is roasted caramel. Sweet but not cloyingly so. Very clean bock-like finish. No alcohol burn. Pretty good beer. One of the best Eastern European macro beers I’ve tried on my recent kick of them.

Bottle from Lithuanica, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark amber with is a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweet malt toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet with an alcoholic sweet malt resin toffee apple palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. 0,5L Price: ~0,66 €. Labai "sunkus". Galėtu pilstyti į mažesnius butelius.

Fawn head, clear ruby body, dots and crochets as lacing. A barrel of dried fruits to the nose, a very inviting bouquet. Taste; powerful caramel malts, confectionery with lots of dark and dried fruits, some fermented fruits, small notes of syrupy bread. Ok body and normal on palate. Nice fruity finish. Overall a nice baltic porter, inclining to sweet. I was a hobo in Marijampole Lithuania for one night to get this one, for sharing with a porter-loving specialist north of the arctic circle.
