3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2007 On tap in Riga. Pours light copper with thick, slightly off-white head. Some lacing down the side of the glass. Fresh, spicey hop aroma. Doughy, musky malt. Distinctly smells of honey. Aroma is key here, taste seems secondary. Just wanted to stick my nose right in the glass. Flavor is bright, grassy hop bitterness. Aftertaste is prominent oily bitterness. Mouthfeel is fluffy and a little oily.

Bottle. Very weak fizzy head. Gold with more bubbles than anticipated on the eye. Malty hop aroma, faint. Sweet malty taste, hoppy malt finish. All a bit watery. I swear this was better when I was younger.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A draught poured in a dimpled mug. Yellow and a bit hazy body with a large white head. Sweet and malty aroma with notes of honey. Malty flavour that lingers until finish. Soft carbonation. Very little hops. Maltiness definitely dominates. Decent but too sweet for me.

This is a good drinking lager. I had it on draught in Riga. It reminded me a lot of the Sam Adams Lager. It had a similar floral hop bouquet and balanced flavor. Very good option if you’re drinking in Riga.

Very nice golden pour with frothy head. Apricots and hops leads to honey and a final bitterness. Decent.
