It doesn’t have a strong aroma or an especially memorable palate, but the flavor alone might just put this one in your top 5.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2012 500 ml bottle shared at Beer session XIX in Tromsř 220312. Golden orange body with long-lasting small white head. Aroma is reminiscent of wet and warm grass and earth. Flavour of fruited hops. Dry and smooth palate that feels good in the mouth. Not bad.

500ml bottle, many thanks to Stefan and Elisabeth for the share. Clear, apricot coloured body. Decent off-white head leaving fragile lacing behind. Earthy malts and grassy hops to the nose. Caramel malts in flavour joined by butter-like fruits. Short fruit bitter tail. Smooth (From Lativa to Alus, beer session, Tromsř 22.03.2012).

Bottle picked up at green week in Berlin. Clear amber with a short lived head. Aroma is caramel and fruit. Flavour is sweet malt with a light coffee caramel base. Quite lively with a dry bittersweet finish.

On keg at Lido in Riga. Pours a red - orange colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of bready yeast, caramel and light coffee notes. Similar flavours with a chewy mouth-feel. Lingering caramel and bready yeast characters. Moderate carbonation with a mild CO2 prickle.

Unfiltered on draught in Lido Centrs in Riga and others. This is one of those beers where rating the unfiltdand filtered version the same is daft, as there is a measurable quality differential - the filtered is 2.8 on my ratings. Chewy, toffee-laced, comfort beer that I could have drunk all evening.

Bottle. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, apple, hop. Flavour is fruit, malt, apple, hop, caramel. Medium body. Boring beer.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Bottle in Riga. Amber coloured dunkel?! Light and crisp palate. Slightly fruity. Not bad.
