BB 020515. Poured a clear pale golden colour with a one- to two-finger white frothy head that diminished slowly to a collar. Laced well. Carbonation very high and coarse. Aroma typical; lager - malt and grain; no obvious hops. Taste initially sour malt then becomes a bit sweet but has a distinct tangy possibly chemical bitterness. Light body, a bit watery. Crisp, light refreshing with a lingering tangy bitterness on the finish. Best drank cold.

12 ounce bottle. Thanks Doug! Pours a pale gold with a nice white head. Mild aroma of malt and grain. Taste is malt, grain, and a bit of grass. Drinkable.

I had this beer a couple of years ago and I forgot to rate it. And Iím not going to have it again for a new tasting. Not memorable. Well, it is not worse than the Fijian or PNG lagers. But that is not a great achievement per se. Tick mark.

Pale watery yellow, fizzy head that lasts no time. Extremely thin, watery body. Slight chemical taste. Terrible.

21/IX/2012 - 355ml bottle @ home - BB: 26/X/12 (2012-1060) Thanks to Thomas and Annelies for the bottle!

Clear pale yellowish beer, big creamy white head with some irregular bubbles, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: corn, rice, grains, bit metallic, hay, slightly spicy touch. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: carbon sour first, then sweet sugary, grains, overripe fruits, little bitter. Aftertaste: medicinal bitterness, bit metallic, watery. Meh, another country tick, right? ;-)

A-- Poured a clear straw color. Lots and lots of little carbonation bubbles with the pour. One finger bright white head. Good head retention and body to head. Looks better than the Fiji stuff I have had. S-- Crisp aroma. Little bit of hops and a good malt body. Grassy smell, with a touch of spicy and floral. Smell like a European lager. T-- Bread, grass, a little floral, and a little bit of a hard mineral taste. Nothing too offensive though. M-- Clean, crisp, long lasting grass feel. has a bit of a hard sparkling mineral water feel with the metallic mineral taste but a better feel than others. Spicy and prickly carbonation. Clean and refreshing. O-- Maybe I have been in the South Pacific too long. I liked this. Easy to drink even warm. More of a sparkling mineral water taste warm but if I like this warm. Would be really good ice cold on a hot, humid day. Better than a lot of the Aussie beers in this style.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Bottle in Raratonga. Unusually sour citrus in this lager but overall has a watery body. Refreshes well though.

First time I has this was like a bad VB, but grew on me over the two weeks I was in Samoa. Like Fiji Bitter in Fiji, somwhow it works in Samoa. That said was very chemically and the Samoans donít seem to know how to serve this sort of beer very cold all the time.

Bottle. Pours a clear straw color. There are some light citrusy hops, not much maltiness. Overall not a lot of flavor, but certainly better than most U.S. macro pale lagers. After living for a total of two years in a place where this is the only beer available I have come to both love and hate it. Itís extremely drinkable but certainly not the most exciting.

12 oz bottle. The large bottle increases to 6.7 ABV and much better tasting. Pours straw and it is your typical boring pale lager. Not much flavor, slightly skunky, and grassy. Very light. However, there is not much else to drink in American Samoa, except for coors light, so I would welcome this beer anyday.
