3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap@ölhus hki. Pale golden. Pale malty, quite huskey grainy, with a good sense of that familiar lagery doughy yeast. Flavour is better, the birch shines through, not too strong, but giving a pleasant light sweetness, nature- ness. Light, ligh bland, but better than a lot.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma has hay, grainy malts and mild birch. Pours clear golden with a minimal head that leaves little lacing. Taste has very distinctive birch leaf aroma, grassy hops and nice maltiness. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and nice birch aroma in the finish. Overall a very nice summer beer to sauna.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle shared with djoeye. Off-white bubbly head. Clear, late straw coloured body. Restrained smell of chocolate and leafy hops. Malt-fruity taste, including chocolate, grassy hops, and a touch of birchwood. Dry ending. Smooth in the mouth. Satisfying (session in Tromsø 05.12.2014).

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
White head, golden clear slightly straw body, dotty lacing.
Aroma; green birch leaves, apple, roasted chocolate-malt notes far away.
Taste; herbal malts, smoked wood, chocolate notes, fruity notes, and the wood is assumably birch (koivu) (as label design told us).
Finishes short rounded with birch.
Overall; good summer (suvi) beer.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from K-supermarket (Kamppi, Helsinki - € 3,99) in August 2014. Pours a hazy light amber; the white head disappears fast. Nose is weirdly medicinal, soapy, grassy, grainy, pils-y. Not pleasant. Taste is very malty, slightly bitter and even sour with an acidic prickle in the throat. Not really getting any of the birch thing, neither in nose nor taste. Medium body, not much carbonation; palate is rather sticky. The idea to use birch is brilliant but the result seems to be a failure... I was really hoping for a good ’sauna experience’ in the form of a beverage... Maybe just a bad batch?

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear white golden beer with white soapy head. Aroma has grass, hay and birch leaves. Flavor is malty with grass and birch leaves. Thin palate with strong carbonation. Mild bitterness on the finish and aftertaste is malty. The birch leaves are not too dominant, but present. The beer underneath it is just not that spectacular.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours an orangey golden with a large, white head. Aroma is light pale malts, light grass. Some weird kind of herb or berry that I can’t really place. Probably the birch leaves. Taste is pale malts, some birch and grass. Lightly sour, some funky fruitiness in the background. High carbonation that covers the rather light body. Fairly refreshing in the beginning, but doesn’t encourage one to finish the whole thing.
