COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beer brewed with birch leaves.

Prykmestar Suvi syntyi haasteesta tehdä Suomen Olutseuralle 20-vuotisjuhlan kunniaksi nimikkoolut.

Bottle. Pours an orangey golden with a large, white head. Aroma is light pale malts, light grass. Some weird kind of herb or berry that I can’t really place. Probably the birch leaves. Taste is pale malts, some birch and grass. Lightly sour, some funky fruitiness in the background. High carbonation that covers the rather light body. Fairly refreshing in the beginning, but doesn’t encourage one to finish the whole thing.

The head is medium, the body yellow and cloudy. It smells malty, bit sour. The taste is bit sour, malty, a bit yeasty, medium. 10/9/9/9/-/10

500 ml bottle. Pours clear golden with minimal white head. Rather unpleasant and a bit tart aroma of birch-leaves, malt and mild hops. More pleasant taste of birch and sweet malt as undertone. Medium bodied, medium carbonation and oily mouthfeel. Birch finish. Unique idea and taste but I´m not sure do I like it or not. Birch is dominating both aroma and taste.

Bottle. Pours amber with small white head. Somewhat bitter taste. Didn’t really notice the birch leaves in the taste. Ok, but nothing special compared to bulk stuff.

Aroma is quite weak. Bit fruity, some birch. On the sweeter side. Finnish summer smells nicer. Clear golden, short head. Taste is more interesting than aroma and has much more birch in it. Bit of bitterness, more than in aroma. Bit herbs here. Some vegetable like flavors not to my liking. Light, medium carbonated. This one was made to honour finnish beer societys 20 year anniversary and idea was to make it using traditional finnish ingrediants. Should also remind me of summer. Best part is taste but overall this is not near as nice as finnish summer..even with the rainy days..and gnats. Wont drink this after sauna.

Draught at Villi Wäinö, Helsinki. Clear golden, small creamy head. The birch mostly comes across as vegetable soup. Bland and and fruity with rounded mouthfeel. Compost and iron takes over the finish. Had to double check that it wasn’t mislabelled Lapin Kulta...

20/11 0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, thanks! It poured orange body with smaller head. Weaker malty aroma revealing it’s sweet character. Sweet fruity, sugary, vanilla flavor, balanced with some slightly bitter herbal notes, I assume it’s birch. Medium bodied with long and quite fine bitterish finish. Pretty strange and nothing special for sure, but it wasn’t so bad to me.
