3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2013 Copper orange beer with huge white head disappearing quite fast leaving lacing on the glass. First clear, becomes hazy with pouring the yeast. Aroma has banana sweetness, citrus, yeast and fruit jelly beans. Taste is banana, yeast and bitterness. Has a nice long bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thicker than medium with high carbonation. A good weizenbock with the drinkability of a hefeweizen but other properties of a darker weizenbock such as Aventinus. Cascade also suits this beer well.

Misty brown and yellow beer and thick but not that big head. Some berries, cascade hops and bananas, not that powerful banana scent. Crispy carbonation, hints of dried plums and some dark berries in it too, maybe blackcurrant? Not that overpowering banana flavor, cascade hops bring some bitter flavors to compensate the sweet banana, yeast and malts. Quite enjoyable weizen bock.

Bottle. Hazy medium brown color with a descending head. Aroma of ripe banana, wheat and yeast. Notes of citrus. Medium bitter quite dry taste. For a Weizen an unusual floral finish. Medium body. American hops (Cascade) in German style wheat beer, strange but tastes good.

Looks light brown and fuzzy. Smells sweet and inviting with malts and some yeast related notes (banana, bread yeast). Flavour is great: filling, fizzy, dark malts, caramel, banana, a sharp fruity citrus note from the cascade hops that melts into the fruit from the yeast. There’s a gentle alcohol hit, which is not displeasing, it makes you sort of respect the beer more and its very nice. There’s a great interplay of sweet and malt, and gentle bitterness as the beer dissipates into a long finish. I’d drink this regularly.
