33cl bottle. Hazy orangish amber colour with a small white head. Yeast, spices, caramel, esters and herbal hops in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is not as complex as the aroma but as well interesting with more sweet notes than bitterness. Overall, a very nice beer.

Oranje gele kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt fruitig, kruiden, mout. Smaakt beetje fruitig, snoep, kruiden. Beetje veel koolzuur.

Deep bronze coloured Christmas abbey ale with yeasty and estery character, spiced (coriander seed), fruity and sweetish taste, malty, caramel with spices and herbal hops as well as warming alcohol in the finish. Cliché, but very decent.

75cl bottle shared in a Delirium Noel glass. Pours a light brown colour with quite a bit of residual yeast. Aroma is quite subdued with mostly estery notes being present. Taste is very well balanced with juicy sultanas and a nice closing bitterness. Overall a solid Belgian effort but nothing (other than the perfect balance) to make it stand out above others.

330ml served in a Trappist glass. A: Pours an orange to beige color. Very cloudy. Forms a big white fluffy head. Good retention. In fact, a small layer remains forever and many lacing are left in the glass S: Very yeasty. Honey and sweet malts. A bit spicy too with hints of pepper T: Sweet malts, honey and yeasts. Quite dry, in overall. A bit spicy and a good bitter end M: Medium body and carbonation. Mild bitter aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Quite dry and lacks sweetness and spiceness to a Belgian Triple. It lacks some orange zest too but, in any case, a Val-Dieu [ BA Review @ 9/15/2012 ]
