3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Blond color; creamy head. Quite poor aroma, like paper. Ordinary taste, quite dry and a bit spicy, but malty, like a simple and weak Triple.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Huge lasting creamy white head and thick lacing. Cloudy yellow/orange with many carbonation bubbles rising. Aroma of icing sugar, yeast and sweet mellon. Very pleasant malty beverage. Subtle flavours in each sip, light spice, wheat and bread notes. A lingering sweetness on the lips. An enjoyable beer that would be welcome in a larger bottle on a long weekend.

Bottled. Hazy golden. Estery and fruity. Firm with balanced sweetness and notes of curacao and wheat malt. Some grassy hops creates a nice, bitterish finish. I truly enjoyed this beer!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(draught under the name "Hoppetje") Fully hazy yellow-gold; very carbonised to full white head, reasonably stable. Very fresh aroma, green leaves, touch of aroma hops, pale malts. Wheat-like flavour, very grainy, little herbal taste. Slightly sticky mouthfeel, good body. Long-grainy, sticking aftertaste. On draught, a very good introduction to a Belgian ale.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2004 Small, light head - somewhat hazy in appearance although not nearly as present as some of its Belgian counterparts. Deceivingly light palate with loads of flavor - light citrus with hints of apples and figs. Not overly present with spice - this is a beer I could drink regularly if it was more available; unfortunately I live in NC...

Tap, ZBF 2004. Gold with thin but lasting white head and moderate condition. Low sweet malt with hints of caramel and grain in the nose, caramel and trace hop flavour in the mouth and a developing hop bitterness with some chalky dryness in the finish.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
A rather blond beer with a small head. The aroma is hop and wet dog. The taste is rather bland and there is no bitterness. A dissapointment.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A slight hazy honey colored beer with a big foamy white head, thick lacing. Scent of bitter orange peel, corriander and yeast. A slightly tangy, slightly sweet tropical fruit flavor. Very light in the body for the flavors and 6% ABV. An easy to drink refreshing beer.

Out of a Chimay glass as the wife broke the Duvel glass last night (oh the humanity). Light golden color with a tall rocky white head with heavy lace. Very light nose. A little malt, a little lemon and a touch of spice. Light oily, yet spritzy feel. A very low key type of brew. Light pale malt mingles with a hint of cloves, light white wine, key lime, mango and a few other little subtleties. Actually the way this is put together they all are little subtleties. Nothing to bold or brash, just well made, balance and light.
