330ml Bottle: Aroma of dark ripe fruit, slight cocoa, fruit, and malts. Poured brown in color with a medium-sized, dense, tan head, that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of large particles throughout. Good lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malts, chocolate, wood, light dark ripe fruits, and cocoa. Medium body. Tingly, then very chalky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Chalky, cocoa and malt finish.

Peculiar Pub: dark molasses color, but clear, no sediments. Nice head, thick and dark. Smell of fruits predominant, although not a sweet atsting as expected. Overall flavor rather flat. Medium carbonation.

judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 15, 2009
Opaque, deep amber-brown color with fluffy, tanned, fully lasting head. Rich fruity aroma with plums, grapes, liquorice and sugar candy. Medium sweet, vinous mouthfeel with dark fruits. More light and smooth bodied than expected. Slightly spicy, grapey acidity with some burnt feel in the finish. Nice one.

11.2 oz bottle 5/6/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a reddish brown with a nice tight off white head. Aroma of fruits, grape soda (scrizz),caramel, and yeast. Taste of sweetness, yeast, brown sugar, and fruits. Also a bit of alcohol. This medium bodied brew is not bad. Not the best Dubbel but still quite tasty.

Very dark brown, dense in color, though not much haze. Great head, 2 fingers in the glass and had longevity and body. I seriously smell grape soda on the nose. First I thought fresh ripe plum, but no, it’s purple soda. Top shelf. Minute Maid, not this ’Shasta’ or -insert local grocery chain here- off brand. I’m not thrown yet, and it’s a solid aroma, no off flavors, so I’m not bashing it. Just different than expected. Good mix of dried fruit and abbey yeast, still getting a hint of that grapey goodness on the backend. As it warms the yeast component stands out more making it more full and intense.

Nice dark brown color. Steady foam from the bottle. Nice toasted aroma in the nose. In the palate also nice toasted malts and some sweetness but not too much. Aftertaste is a good balance between sweety dried fruits and light chocolate bitters.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a thin beige head.Yeasty and malty nose, with hints of cocoa. Similar flavor, with some dark fruit flavors, a bit on the sweet side. Finish was sweet and dry. Nice beer.
