A solid, solid dubbel. It is mild and deep at the same time, welcoming the drinker sip by sip by sip as its flavors unfold. An excellent beer for introducing "virgins" to the joys of Belgian beer--no harsh flavors but lots of subtlety.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BrianG (44) - Big Stone Gap, Virginia, USA - APR 11, 2005
Poured a golden brown with a nice head. There was lacing along the glass as the beer was drunk. Malt and caramel. Smooth beer with slightly bitter finish, but the bitterness does not linger. Good beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DougShoemaker (3149) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 9, 2005
Aroma of sweet malt, toffee and caramel, cloudy pomegranate, pours a huge, firm, toffee head, yards of lace. Flavour has bitter malts, rich caramel, treacle, almonds and red plums. Complex, extremely well balanced, very smooth, with an appreciated bitterness. Sensational!
Thanks Michael Robis of Chester’s.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 RooftopRogue (423) - Champaign, Illinois, USA - APR 2, 2005
An eight percenter that pours a good head that leaves a nice amount of lacing on the glass. It has a full rich brown color. The smell of wheat, yeast, and a mild hint of hops catches the nose and warns the palate. This beer enters the mouth with a mild bitter taste that has the hint of malt and hops. The aftertaste lingers well and fades just as you are ready to take another drink.
