Quite a good dubbel. Good appearance. Tastes of fruit and chocolat. Try some more of this brand.

Deep brown pour with a light colored head. Good sized head and sticky lace. The appearance is pretty good. Nose of malt, fruit, spices a little chocolate and the alcohol as it warms. Flavors start sour, fruity in the middle, maybe raisins, finishes chocolatey with a sour fruit aftertaste. When broken into parts the flavor is great but as a whole it doesn’t flow all that well. Good smooth feel and body. However, when compared to other dubbels it can’t stand up, but it is enjoyable nonetheless.

03.16.05 11.2oz bottle dated March 2006. Dark brown-red with a shaving cream thick and creamy tan head. Malty and sweet but ordinary aromas. Creamy body, wet, zero bitterness or dry hops. Slight metallic twinge to taste. Flavors of coffee, cocoa, blood, raisin, some banana. It seems to be missing something where there should be spice. So-so stuff.

Pretty unexciting for a Belgian. Good brown color with a small light colored head and moderate lacing. Limited complexity — sourness, malt, vanilla (no doubt from the yeast), caramel, possibly a touch of coffee or chocolate, but, somehow, less complex than that all sounds. But a very drinkable beer.

Nice brown beer with reddish glow and with normal faint colored head. Nice malts in the nose with touches caramel, agorn-sirup, dry fruits and milk-chocolate and fresh herbs. Taste is soft and smooth with again touche of caramelized candy sugar, sweet fruits, faint coffee, cakes and a fine bitterness of the hops. A staight forward brown ale.

Chestnut brown colored ale which shows a straightforward caramelic candi sugar nose. Once again, limited lacing affects the medium sized off-white head. Well contained sweetness though once again, I feel the high carbonation contributes to limiting sweetness more than actual ingredients. Slightly meaty flavor development, mellow yeasty flavors produce dark fruits esters and a banana kick. Pear, caramel and milk chocolate conclude the display. Fairly predictable imo. I enjoyed their Noel and Tripel a lot, but those last 2 val-dieu didn’t light my lantern.

Pleasant, slightly sweet with just the finest touch of hops. Semi-thick, nice amber-brown color with a foamy head. The alcohol sneaks up on you in this beer.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a quite subdued taste, not bad but not outstanding either.
