Bottle as gift @home Pours very dark brown with a medium creamy offwhite frothhead, nice lacing. Taste is very malty with some sweet tones of dark fruit. Maybe even a little cheese. Body is heavy, creamy texture. Medium carbonation. The finish is ver abrupt, a little bitter. Overall a very good beer, perfect for a dark, rainy night.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is brune rubyred colored with a tick cream colored head. In the aroma tones of coffee and mokka, chocolate and cinnamon. Taste is roasted malts, light spicy, chocolate, cinnamon, and mild tones of anice. The finish is semi-dry and has tones of spices. Nicely done, but I miss the full body of a dubbel.

Cloudy brown beer with a thick, bubbly head. Aroma is rich and fruity though you can also smell the strength of it. Fortunately given the strength it’s one to savour than to guzzle anyway as it’s really quite sweet. Not especially sickly, the fruit flavours are quite natural rather than it being a sugary mess, but there’s a proper tanginess to it when you first have a swig. Quite light in spite of everything though.

33cl bottle. Strong dark beer, full of flavours. Caramel, raisins. A beige foam tops the brown body. Once my favorite, now a very lovely, yet very sweet abbey with great body.

Bottle from Yamaya. Ripe fruit aromas: sweet apples, raisins, and light brown sugar. Medium translucent brown, thick fluffy pocked beige head. Sweet fruity intial, yeast, dark fruit, a hot of alcohol, and a rather dry finish. Medium body. Tasty stuff. Moderate complexity.
