One of the best belgium style dark beer for me. Very rich fruity taste. Unfortunatelly do not keep all qualities after travel by plane (trie twice - both times the taste in Latvia was dissapointing, while always had excellent taste in Belgium)

Ma bière belge préférée! Lors de la visite à l abbaye Val Dieu, j y ai goûté la bière brune en pression.... Magnifique! Ça change un peu de celle en bouteille.

33 cl, bb 19/10/07. Mahogany with a half-inch of creamy, enduring foam. Beautiful icing covers the glass. Aromas of dark bread, chocolate, raisin, nutmeg, vanilla, spicy rum cake and a hint of cherry. Similar complex of flavors are a tad less sweet than the aroma due to some nice stout-like coffee and char tones for bitterness. Medium-heavy body is smooth and a touch to the dry side.

Aroma is like Vanilla. Medium head that dissipates slowly. Nice brown copper color. A hint of cinnamon. Smooth prunish chocolate tail. There is nothing bitter about this one. Very nice . Picked it up at Colonial Spirits in Acton, MA.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2005 Aroma sweet malt, caramel, a little vanilla/chocolate. Color rich amber with a nice frothy white head. The first thought that comes to mind when drinking it is soft, this beer is so soft and smooth. Tastes sweet caramel malt. Vanilla, yeasty finish. Excellent beer! Redlight Redlight in winter park serves it in bottles.

Nice and dark with lofty crisp champagne head and a little cloudiness. Fresh green apple aroma with musky mature yeasts. Very smooth, mellow malts with a slight apple and prune zing. Carbonation is a matter of perfection. Very clean and very refreshing. Alcohol is not stated but the buzz is appreciated. No bitter quality. No alcohol acridity. No annoying hops. Just natural, liberated, fermented and thuroughly appeciated beer.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3977) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2006 This is the first time I have had this beer. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with red highlights and a huge khaki head that lingers and produces copious lacing. This is really a very pretty beer. The aroma is sweet and bready with a moderate ripe dark fruit undertone. The flavor is strongly sour with ripe fruits and a hint of caramel and molasses. There is a bitter tangy finish.
