COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The new masterpiece from the Val-Dieu brewery. A very complex and full-bodied beer with a long aftertaste. The brewmaster advices to cellar the beer for a year for it to unfold its full potential.

(75 cl bottle) Dark brown, unclear, beige head. Aroma of raisins, prunes, caramel, molasses, spices. Taste is heavily sweet, low bitterness. Full-bodied. Sticky. Certainly a good beer, but a bit to sweet and heavy for me.

On tap during Brussels vacation. Hazy amber with small beige head. Aroma is sweet, light acidity and fruity cherry notes. Taste is very sweet, light acidity, fruit, cherries with a long sour and bitter finish

Rated on 02-23-2013 at RBWG Grand Tasting. Six liter bottle courtesy of thebeersommelier. This beer’s appearance is a medium sized beige head with a short retention, hazy amber body, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is yeast, dark fruits, alcohol, malt, and sweet. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is very quaffable and has a very good flavor to it. This beer is worth trying and definitely a beer I would drink again.

0.75 bottle. Very dark brown color and a small, beige head. Sweet, pleasant aroma of vanilla, caramel, spices, bananas, and biscuits. Taste is also very sweet and features lots, and I mean lots, of spices. Medium to full body, creamy texture, and lively carbonation. Finish is just as full of flavor and spices as the rest. Overall a great beet, it had my full recommendation.

Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma: floral, dark and light malts dominate. Taste: sweet, malty with some caramel. I must say when I had this beer three years ago I found it great (for Belgian standards). After experiences with craft beer in the US and Europe I find it ok.

Smells and tastes less like Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony than the last beer I tasted, but like these sons of Cleveland it creeps up on you: The high alcohol percentage is almost inperceptible behind all the many exciting nuances in the taste and smell. Contains soy, fish sauce, petrol, licorice and several different spices; but is most of all an intense and authoritarian expression which tells me exactly what it wants. Obviously, I too want it.

Sample at SBWF 2014. Malty smell with ripe fruit. Sweet malty taste with ripe fruit. Very nice, will probably age well.
