750ml Bottle: Aroma of Belgian yeast, pale malt, and some cookie. Poured yellow/gold in color with a large, creamy, loose, white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small and medium-sized particles throughout. Very good lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of pale malt, Belgian yeast, slight grain, and a tiny hint of hops. Medium body. Viscous, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, pale malt and Belgian yeast finish is dry. 9%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

A solid trippel. Thanks for mes’ rate regarding the head so I poured into my Duvel glass and it proved to be a good decision. There is a lot of sediment floating around in this. The texture is malty; citrusy and a tough doughy element too. A classic trippel style to speak. The sediment is very high and I poured as slowly as possible to reduce this. This bottle is aged. I feel this is similar to Duvel but nowhere as good quality wise. This is just a generic good trippel. Don’t be put off by the sediment though. I warn you! Drinkability is good and alcohol is well hidden. Finish is medium and dry.

Shared this one w/SkyCop32. Pours a bright golden yellow color. Aromas of hops, fruit, and a little yeast. Has a light lemony taste, with some yeasty notes, and a good hop flavor.

The Val-Dieu is a bit of an average triple. I do love the fact that once the beer was poured, the head was stark white and clung to the sides of the glass, making for some beautiful lacing. The head also sustained itself throughout the entire bottle. But just about everything else in this beer was fairly average. The nose was really sweet and fruity, as were the front end of the flavors. The finish was a bit more spicy, earthy and bready. The body was very lively as well. I didn’t dump this beer by any stretch of the imagination, but I doubt I would buy another bottle.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2011 Una de les meves preferides de les triples belgues. Prou contundent, però no tan bèstia com una Rochefort.

Bottle. Pours light golden in color, huge white head. Slightly spicy aroma, some astringency. Flavor notes - banana, yeasty bread, spices, sweet fruity malts. Full bodied, relatively easy drinking, smooth clean finish.

Light blond, small white head, bubbles in glass, good lacing. Aroma is spicey, hoppy, with lemon and coriander, a small pepper in it. Tastes refreshingly, full bodied, bitter, a bit acidic like lime. Slightly bitter finish, a bit dry, with hints of grapefruit and apples. Nice tripel.

Pours a clear gold color with a nice white head. Aroma of hops, fruity, banana and yeasts. Flavors of dry hops, fruity; dry white raisins, banana, some citrus and some spices. Good carbonation, sweet and bitter dry finish, creamy end. Very nice and enjoyable triple.
