Val-Dieu Triple is the result of a long fermentation, scrupulously followed by the brewmaster. Its deep yet soft bitterness does not interfer with the discovery of its components. The taste of the hop comes through, naturally aromatized, accompanied by an alcoholic after taste. It can be associated with refined dishes and ranks among the great beers. It may be found in the some of the most exclusive restaurants.

Ingredients: Pilsen malt, Saaz and Spalter hops, sugar, live yeast, natural water from the region.

Solid Belgian tripel beer. Very yeasty body, with some notes of grain, hop and fruit.

I love the look of this beer. It pours very hazy with a very frothy head. It’s like drinking foam (in a positive sense). The flavours are good, but there’s an odd aftertaste that reminds me of the smell of urinal blocks that makes me mark it down.

Bottle. Dark orange, slightly hazy, nice frothy foam head. Large yeast aroma, blue cheese, slight hint of copper/steel. Taste is sweet from the offset, but very robust: like honey and marzipan. Slight boozy kick, a little creamy as well. Misses a sour kick. Mellow aftertaste. Good triple though.

Pours a orange yellow. Ripe fruits, full body, sticky texture. Taste is rather sweet. Palate nicely overhelmed by tones of plums maturated in alcohol. B@H

couleur jaune trouble, petite mousse blanche.

Unclear yellow, with small white head. Sweet malty, yeasty citrus aroma. Flavour follows aroma

330ml bottle poured into La Chouffe tulip. A: Golden, initial large thick head, very good retention. A: Sour, earthy, yeasty with a hint of molasses. T: Bittersweet wheat, touch of sourness, notes of biscuit, slightly sour, fruity hid the booze well. M: Light body for the high adv, smooth, well carbonated, very easy to drink. O: I’m coming round to tripels after initial scepticism, this one ticked all the boxes, had layers and went down well.

Drank at Thijs 24-05-2014 during the tasting. Okay beer, not very special. Didn’t really like it.
