Sampled during Cellar’s Wine & Spirits Friday evening beer tasting in St Paul, MN. Pours a amber tinted golden brew (with sediment) with a thick and fizzy white head that as excellent retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of apricots, caramel malt, earthy herbs, yeast and some ripe peach. Taste is medium bodied, well carbonated, with flavors of Belgian yeast, apricots, caramel malt and a touch of vanilla. Finish is a little gritty, fruity and a nice yeast/malt aftertaste with a nice alcohol bite.

33 cL. Orange and hazy with a nice white head. Fairly sweet and juicy tripel with notes of citrus and hone, plus a dusting of hops to help balance the alcohol--but it’s still a bit boozy and out of balance. Also somewhat thin. Flawed but still tasty.

Cork labeled 03/08, not really sure what that means, could possibly be a drink by date... Cork almost got away from me on this one, and foam slowly started to ooze from the bottle. Pours hazy golden/orange with a nice frothy white head, and lots of floaties. Fairly sweet aroma of spiced honey and orange zest, banana peel, and light but noticeable alcohol. Flavor is much yeastier than expected, with biscuit and doughy notes most prominent. Fruity overtones of orange zest, and light hints of apples, with a nice peppery spice towards the finish. Palate is medium/full, lightly spiced, slightly acidic, and a bit musty.

Draft at O’Brien’s. Lots of yeasty bread aromas off this golden orange beer with a nice white head. Flavors were more biscuits and some bright fruits. Vanilla notes with quite a decent shot of alcohol in the finish. Pretty good.
