3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hansen (4228) - Assentoft, DENMARK - SEP 2, 2010
Orange colour and a bit hazy. Has a fine, lasting, white head. Looks good. First aroma-notes is like unsalted, roasted pork, then some fruit, unidentified. Flavor reveals more fruitiness, not red fruit, more like a mix of pumpkin, melon and faint pineapple. Sweet beginning af faint bitter finish. Creamy texture. Soft carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KajII (344) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - AUG 30, 2010
Bottle. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a large frothy white head that was fully lasting and had excellent lacing. The aroma was heavy of a doughy yeast, a cereal malt and a light flowery hop with notes of citrus and apricot. It tasted sweet and mildly bitter at first and developed into a sweet , smooth and creamy flavor with nice notes of fruit. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and quite creamy in texture with a very soft carbonation. Overall a very tasty Tripel.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 spkevin (280) - Doetinchem, NETHERLANDS - AUG 25, 2010
Bottle. Deep golden pour with nice white head. Hints of fruits and spices. Light sweet taste with some bitterness and alcohol. Some unknown taste there which I can’t place. That’s what makes this Tripel unique. Just like the other Val-Dieu’s, very enjoyable.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 thepegjett (919) - Cambridge (via Winnipeg), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2010
A - Spicy with the scent of banana, bubblegum and a touch of citrus
A - Brownish gold with thick white head
T - Lasting sweetness with lasting bitter finish, but they don’t mesh together as much as battle one another. This said it is great that the 9% alcohol does not harm the rest of the flavors
P - Thin and fizzy
T - It’s a decent beer, but I would have liked a fuller more distinct flavor
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hawthorne00 (1306) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 5, 2010
Orange, off white head that fades to a coat. Aroma has mellow oranges, over-ripe apricots and cheese with a little clove and white pepper. Low carbonation for the style. Taste has lots of cheesy yeast is very sweet with apricots and sugar. No real spicy hop finish unfortunately. Maybe would have worked better really cold, but it’s just too sweet for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUL 27, 2010
Bottle:
Small white foamy head.
Hazy orange yellow color.
Smell is fruity (apple, orange), malts and some hints of spices.
Taste is pretty sweet mix of fruit (apple, orange, lemon), malt, spices (pepper), hint of alcohol and hint of yeast.
Bit dry, fruity and less bitter aftertaste.
Pretty well balanced, but just a slightly less body and maybe a bit too much carbonation.

750ml at a tasting thanks to Thierry.
Appearance : Clear yellow with a medium head.
Aroma : Honey, quite spicy and yeasty. Some crisp hops
Taste : Spicy with honey and yeast. Dry finish.
Overall : Too spicy for the style of Tripel I like. Interesting sweetness on the taste but other than that, nothing really worth it.
