3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle found in Jumbo Valparaiso Pours a deep black color with brown-ish hues. Head is medium light brown and leaves no lacing. Aroma is fine with herbal hops outshining the malts in the beggining but dissappearing quickly. Then I get the notes of chocolate, blueberry muffin and a trace of liquor. Taste is well-balanced with light chocolate coming out smoothly and hints of Cascade hops in great harmony. Much better than expected. A little lighter than other Chilean Stouts like Kross, Szot, Quimera or Mahina but more well-rounded. Long aftertaste. I’ve a couple of mediocre reviews for this beer in some Chilean websites. I can only think they had a bad (infected) bottle. This one is superb.
