Appearance: Clear pale brownish color with a small tan head that ends up in almost nothing.
Aroma: Sweet malty and mild herbal.
Palate: Medium to light body. A bit sweet and a very mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Mild sweet malty, berry fruity and light herbal.
Overall impression: Unbelievable dull and flat. I was so happy when I spotted this one. I do normally fancy herbal ale like this a lot. I will probably have to go to Valdres and get a proper example.
Personal stats: On tap at Smak av Valdres (Vulkan - Mathallen) in Oslo, Norway.

Huge 1,5 liter bottle from Meny Grønland Torg, Oslo, consumed for Christmas Eve breakfast 2011; paired with loads of awesome small dishes and a shot of aquavit. :-) Deep amber body, medium white head. Nose is caramel, pale malts, grains, juniper and hints of pine. Taste is roasty malts, grains, juniper and hints of herbs and nuts. Nice and mellow, with a medium carbonation that suits well. Not too horribly exciting, but original enough and a fair match with the aquavit.

Medium beige head. Deep amber body with light carbonation. Fruity earthy aroma with herbal papery perfumy notes. Dry resiny earthy herbal taste with roasty papery fruity notes. Thinnish body. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry roasty perfumy aftertaste with fruity papery straw notes, faintly watery. Light pepper, as well. Quite nice and fairly unusual. (0.75l bottle, Meny Grønland Torg, Oslo.)

Bottle 2L By at the brewery: Clowdy red colour, with almost no head at all. Aroma of Wet socks!, malts , brown sugar. Flavor is smokey, a bit coffe beans and caramel, thin body,, short to medium fisnish. ; But enyway a innterestning taste of foreign kind of brewery tekcniks. Not bad at all. This is kind of brewteknik, it has to thake care of. Iinterestning. This was a cool beer if i can rate a beer and just jus this kind of words, and still thaken seriusliy(?) This is a traditional Ale but is in the same way "NOT" ?? My rating will be difficult but i will try to give it recpeckt that it disurve!.
