Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2010, served in an English pint glass. Pours black with tan bubbles and no head. On the nose, aromas of licorice, berries and sweet roasted malt along with smoke and molasses. The flavour is sweet roasted malts with coffee and chocolate. On the palate, medium in body with a milky texture and light carbonation. Overall, an interesting porter. It is light but quite flavourful with roasted notes dominating. 2010-08-04

Cask. Pours a cloudy opaque dark brown with an orange hue and a small beige head. Lightly nutty and roasted nose. Light body, flat, roasted nutty accents and even roast all through the finish. Has a vague underlying tartness. Not much of a Porter. 200110

2010-05-01. Very dark brown body with a small creamy beige head. Aroma is oddly vinuous, fruity almost blackberry like character. 6+ Flavour has a similar fruity blackberry like tang, dry malt, very light roast touches if you look. I suspect the fruit character may not be entirely on purpose, but it was not unpleasant. Average palate. Okay. Bottle from The Grog Shop, Oxford
