Big malt aroma. Golden amber coloured fruity and floral with a crisp and dry malt finish.

Sweet rich raisiny aroma. Similar taste. Carries through to the finish too. Simple rich malts, and raisins, that’s this beer.

Bottle at ChrisO Snow Tasting. It pours deep red-brown with a small off-white head. The nose is caramel, dark fruit, wood, leather and light smoke. The taste is caramel, wood, earth, leather, quite dry and faint astringency with a dry, slight sweet finish. Decent balance and fairly easy drinking, but there just isn’t much too it.

Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a thin off white head that clears to the edge.
Nose is dark malt, bread, yeast, light fruit.
Taste follows, rather bland, light sugars, malty, dark fruit.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish.
Sub average.

On cask at JDW, Stone. Pours mud brown with a lively head. Malts, Christmas spice, hop finish. Decent Xmas ale

Cask handpul at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Clear deepish brown lasting beige head. Its malty and an ok strongish bitter. Some hops on finish but this is all about the rich earthy dry malts. ok condition and tasty rnough. Fine. Happy to have the other half of this.

Cask, The Francis Newton, Sheffield. Deep hazelnut appearance. Sweet aroma with Christmas pudding spice. Some sweetness, more caramel and prune. Moderate spice on the finish.

JDW Rochester - Saturday breakfast. Dark amber - quite malty with some loose bitterness. Rather muddled in all.

Cask at the London & County (JDW), Eastbourne. Chestnut with a loose off-white head; caramel aroma with a hint of spice; rich caramel malt flavour; the finish is dry and biscuity with a touch of spice, leaving a malty aftertaste.

Cask. A brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of nuts. The flavor is sweet and dominated by nuts which carries thru to the dry finish.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Clearish auburn pour with no head. Some fruity hops in the nose. Flavor is not too sweet, with weak notes of herbal and leafy hops leading the way. Mild notes of dried fruits. Medium in body with soft carbonation. Quite dry with only subtle sugars to finish, with some dull, earthy bitterness as well. A drinkable but rather uninspiring beer.
