Cask, Last Plantagenet, Leicester. Dark copper with a cream foam. Aromas are plummy fruit with raisins. Cookie dough with toffee, biscuit and yeast. Earthy hops with some citrus. Flavours are sweet chocolate and weetabix malts with pithy, bitter grapefruit and melon. Very well balanced. Good.

Spoons Fest! Clear brown beer, residual white head. Smooth low carbonation palate, Darkish toffee and nuts. Whisper of orangey hop. Finishes smooth and dry. Okay but nothing exciting.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, 2nd June 2010. Reddish brown, quite malty bitter. Not in great condition I think. Ok but nothing special.

Cask at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks 07-06-10 This did indeed pour chestnut in colour as the description suggested with an off white head, condition wise this was absolutely fine but taste wise not my bag at all. It was really quite malty but also bitter and fruity, maybe it was one of them days when you just want some light hoppy gold and refreshing beer I’m not sure but I do know that this didn’t really do it for me at all and even though I only had a half I was glad at the end. Cask conditioned handpump Racehorse Northampton. A chestnut coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. A malty fruity beer with good berry notes throughout. Good hops and excellent fruit. A very tasty beer.
