3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pint pulled at The Railway in Putney (London), an amber colour with a thin filmy head. A malty sourness in the aroma, presumably because my local JCW is properly caring for the casks and/or lines. Still a very smooth mouth feel though with a levelled bitter finish. The flavours that do come through are a stewed fruits maltiness.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Simple upfront with distinct fruity aromas. Light cakey/vanilla sweet flavour despite being quite dry, almost immediately obliterated by the bitterness then leaving a chalky feel with a hint of residual sweetness. A decent session bitter.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask (handpump) at the Willow Walk (JDW), Victoria. Pale copper colour. Crisp, fresh and quite dry. Distinctly bitter with mild citrus notes. No great depth of flavour. Slightly tart finish. Although there’s really not that much to this beer, it is a session bitter, and a quite decent one.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Handpull cask at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Hazy copper colour with thin white head. Maybe not cleared yet. Muddled flavours, nice hop, some strawberry grapefruit. Earthy/muddy but good fruit. Quite a nice session beer, certainly plenty of flavour. Drying hop finish. Some yeast on nose

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle conditioned. Very frothy off-white head, nice colour. Grainy taste, a little fruity. Very active. Interesting it’s bottle conditioned, but it works. Dry.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2011 2004 rating: Bottle conditioned from Wycombe Wines, High Wycombe, Bucks. 500ml. Interesting malty and nutty ale with notes of honey and some dusty hops thrown in. It works well for a bottle conditioned bitter. (3.5/5)
2009ish rerate, entered 2011. Bottle conditioned again. An orange colour, sparking clear, a thin tight white head. Subdued fruity aroma. Smooth easy drinking fruity bitter. About as good a bottled beer as you are likely to find for the strength. (3.3/5)

Cask @ Green Dragon & The Rising Sun, Haddenham, UK Backlog 14 Aug 2004
A very nice session beer.Would this be at my local there would be several long sessions indeed. Quite complex for its strength, with some slight butterscotch and nuts. Finishes off with a nice hoppy aftertaste that calls for more of the same.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Babington Arms, Derby (JDW). Bright brown, hint of head, liked the hoppy finish with a real sort of hedgerow berry fruit taste - not blatant but just enough to make you go ooooh. Better the sum of its parts.
