UPDATED: MAY 8, 2015 5/15/2011 A few samples from a 50cl Bottle, brewed in Mannheim according to the label. Hazy yellow colour, thick white head. Aroma of banana, clove, yeast, sweet. Flavour is sweet, banana, wheat, spicy, clove, light papery sourness in the finish. Medium bodied. Need to re-rate, but I actually quite liked this. 747314 A bit more lemony and artificial than I recalled. Aspartame definitely present. It’s OK, but gets boring towards the end. 736313

500ml bottle, maybe the cheapest import of the style in the store. Pretty unexceptional hefe all around. Skews neither banana nor clove. Slightly sweet. Still fairly refreshing, and it’s my first of the year.

Koelschtrinker (12440) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 6, 2011
Trinkbar. Test vom 14.2.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,7,8,8,7,7

I’ll be honest... right out of the bottle this one throws off a funky, noxious aroma. OK, so it’s a bit better once that initial ass odor recedes.. it’s a hefe I can deal with it. Aroma is of banana and clove and it just smells creamy and smooth. Lo and behold, creamy, smooth mouthfeel. Nice banana flavor, a bit of bubblegum and lingering banana/yeast into the finish. I really love a good hefe and this one isn’t bold or memorable but it’s a good, solid brew and a good representation of the style.

500ml Can - Hazy golden with a foamy head. Banana, lemon and spice in the aroma. Banana, lemon and cloves feature in the taste. This can was rather cheap, but the beer is fairly enjoyable and drinkable.

Hazy gold. Strong banana aroma with clove, spice, yeast. Taste is sweet banana, kind of takes over everything else.

Can 5,3%. Cloudy dark yellow body. Small head for a hefeweizen. Aroma is yeasty and ripe. Nice oily mouthfeel. Taste is average, however it is a good value for your money.

500ml can from Spar, Hungary. Cloudy yellow beer with a not too good foam for a hefeweissbier. Medium body and soft carbonation describe. The taste is sweet with a little ananas for me, smell also. Some citrus for the yeast and wheat malt can feel, but not disturb. Average weissbier i think. In action it is cheap.

500ml bottle. it pours a hazy gold with a fluffy white head. The smell is juicy and clovey, SPOT FUCKIN ON for a hefeweizen. The flavor isn’t as good. It is super clovey but it is sweeter than most hefeweizens. It goes down nicely and is drinkable. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-06-2011 02:22:07

Brewed by Eichbaum Mannheim, according to the can. Orange blonde, cloudy. Banana and tangerine in the aroma. Yeasty metallic flavor with banana and hints of tangerine. Some offsetting by-flavors spoil this beer a bit.
