COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ancient warriors of Scandinavia drank mead to fight better. Mead is brewed of honey, herbs and spices. The taste is very sweet and alcoholic and not like normal beer. When you brew it at home it normally gets an alcohol percentage of 13-15%. Today there are no commercial mead brewers, only some micro brewers in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Ceramic bottle. 15%. Only my second mead, and the first in 6 years. No too sure what to look for, but here goes: Pours a clear, pale golden. No head. Aroma has apple in the vicinity of the glass. In the glass, it’s honey, so sweet obviously, but also with a slight tart note, which feels like apple (juice) as well. Feels a bit dusty. Flavour is honey, and a bit tart as well. Sweet finish with a lingering mild alcohol burn. Slightly ’thick’ palate. Overall okay. 11.04.14.

Golden color with no head. Medium body. Mild round sweetness and an oily texture. Fruity and flowery aroma. Fruity, honey and apple flavour. Reminds me of Austrian Eiswein. Nice to an dessert.

Bottle. Pours smooth pale golden. Non-oily texture. Sweetish aroma of lozenge water. Ecscessively sweet and boozy flavour with an eerie bitter finish. I have tasted better meads, but it’s good on a busy Friday night.

Bottle courtesy of HenrikSoegaard. Colour is very close to water, no head. Aroma is sweet, honey, herbal, flowers and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet. Very sweet finish. This has a sugary feel to it. 180313
