Clear light golden color with okay head. Smokey bread flavor. Slight bitterness, and quite exciting. From my Backlog.

Fra kran på Schouskjelleren 12 Apr 13. Lys aprikosfarget. Uklar. Lavt skum. Svak fjøsaroma. Smaken blir enda mere fjøs. Bare sorgen. Har en følelse av at denne ikke var helt frisk.

500ml bottle from Alesela. With a name like something you’d find in a long-unwashed pair of pants. Fortunately, it doesn’t look or smell like that. Clear pale gold, short-lived white head. Aromas are grainy and lemony. Taste brings an earthy note. Bit odd this one. Watery finish.

500ml bottle from Valhalla’s Goat. Rich golden yellow colour, not much head. Resin grain aroma. Oaty fagash malt flavour, Bitter aftertaste. Sorry I couldn’t finish the bottle.

Cask by handpump at Pot Still, Glasgow - clear golden yellow, very thin white head, moderate carbonation, mild malty, bit of fruit, rather unusual, easy to drink

On tap at Henriks, Bergen. Has a clear and golden dark straw colour and a small off-white head. Aroma of bubble gum, sweet corn, tropical fruits and caramel. Much of the same in the flavour but is more fruity with hay, pale malt and some hops. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light to medium bitterness. An okay and fruity bitter.

Medium offwhite shiny head. Clear yellow body with carbonation. Very light floral aroma with earthy notes. Dry-sweet smoky peaty grainy taste with earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy peaty smoky aftertaste with vinous notes. Weird. Did not really enjoy. (0.2l draft at Schouskjelleren, Oslo.)

From a bottle with no best before date. Slightly hazy pale gold, white head. Very slight aroma - can only just pick up a note of heather. Could do with being slightly fizzier. First taste is quite sweet and fruity - black currant. Almost immediately superceded by smokiness. Watery finish. Pleasant but underwhelming - by no means puts me off trying Valhalla’s other beers.

Gravity dispense at Ascot Racecourse Beer Festival 2012 - 06/10/12. Hazy pale golden with a thin off white head that soon clears to nothing. Sour tones on the nose, a little vegetal, peas, light hopping. Tastes as nose, some bread and spice, not great tbh ! Light end of medium bodied with little carbonation leading to a bitter dry finish. Average - drinkable but not one I’d be likely to opt for again!
