Location: Bottle at Paul’s Blind Impy Stout Tasting, 1/5/13
Aroma: The nose is sweet and malty, has some booze and some caramel
Appearance: The beer pours an almost black color with a brown head
Flavor: Taste-wise, it is pretty much what you’d expect from the nose, sweet and a little boozy
Palate: The body is medium, with a decent feel, and a little bit of heat on the finish
Overall Impression:
There was quite a bit going on here, so that was nice. It was a touch too sweet, and though maybe not a top of style offering, this one was pretty good in my opinion.

Bottle at Paul’s for the Blind Stout tasting. Pours a fairly clear brown with a thin white to beige head. Big sweet malt and roast on the nose . Cocoa and chocolate. Big and sweet, lots of roast, warming alcohol. Cocoa, chocolate, lots of sweetness into the finish. Tasty enough, but a bit too sweet.

I really liked this stout! It’s quite nice with lots of cocoa, some coffee, and I got a nice balance of dark fruits from this beer. It also has quite a nice body for this beer and doesn’t cost much!

12 oz. bottle from Discount Liquors. Pours dark brown in color with a thin beige film. The aroma is dark chocolate, dark fruits, molasses with a moderate sweetness. The flavor had more dark fruits up front with roasted malt and a splash of chocolate. A slight tartness appears. Glad this is not listed as a RIS because the body is a bit thin.

courtesy of homebrew311 for the trade.
pours dark brown, tan head.
aroma, chocolate malts, dark fruits, yeasty.
flavors, bold, fizzy carbonation, found it to have a tad too much yeast and dark fruit; fig, dates. Lingering mild tartness, wondering if some infection might be in the bottle. Some chocolate bitterness, medium-high carbonation. I have another bottle that I’ll try again, something was a little off with this one.
