COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First new beer under the Valkyrie brewery name. Rubee is a Martzen lager, a relative and precursor to the Oktoberfest style that is brewed year ’round. Rubee is a full figured red beer without being overbearing. Lots of caramel malts add body and nutty, sweet overtones to the beer with just a hint of smokiness. This is the former Viking Copperhead repackaged but with a slightly different recipe and lower alcohol.

Sample at brewery. Pours orangeish with a lot of head. Aroma is some fruits and smoke. Flavor is initially smokey and finishes sweet. Another interesting beer, but nothing special here. Better than some Oktoberfest beers though.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a monster carbonated head. Huge carbonation in this one. Slightly sour aroma. Noticeable cigarette flavors in the taste. This isn’t very good.

Gusher. Amber with a maaaammoth very airy off-white head. Aroma is sour with grains, caramel and toasted malt. Taste of caramel, fruit, malt and has an artificial feel to it. Kinda thin, not a great effort.

Lightly hazed caramel with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, perhaps from Munich, fruit, dough and light sweet malt. Taste of mild fruit, nuts, toasted malt and a hint of caramel. Pretty light on the palate and average overall.

Pours a deep reddish shade of gold with a lucious white head. Aroma is mild but malty with a bit of caramel and hops creeping in. Flavor is almost tart, with lots of caramel, sweeter malts, and some nuttiness.
