COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Decadent Evil is brewed as a Belgian Style Golden Strong ale. Decadent Evil pours a brilliant gold color with floral aromas and flavors reminiscent of caramel and honey with a slightly spicy finish. We used local organic pomegranate honey in a secondary fermentation. This beer originally debuted as part of the 2009 Collaborative Evil GABF project.

Bomber pours clear deep gold with thin off white head. The aroma is a mix of sweetness and graininess where I seem to be getting apple, pears, maybe peach and then moving toward some graininess. The taste is pretty darn sweet with a pleasing mix of graininess and some malts to go along with juicy sweet apples and pears.

22oz bottle. Hazy orange-amber with a small white head. Aroma of bruised apple, fresh apple, key lime, kiwi, blackberries, and yellow cake. The flavor is sweet with an orange creamsickle quality, but alcohol dries out the finish. Bitterness is low and hops don’t really show. Medium bodied and could really use some more carbonation. Far from flat, but this style just needs a lot of oomph to get it going, and it falls short here, which also affects the head. Golden strong is a really hard style to nail. Really hard. Decadent evil brings some interesting elements to the table, but doesn’t quite bring them all together.

On tap, Blue Palms. A surprise hit for me, given how difficult it is nowadays to get me to like another strong Belgian Golden Ale. Big fruit aroma, balanced by mild hay-herbal notes and Belgian sugars. Flavor jumps at you with its bold fruit notes, pear and peach come to mind. Rounded, creamy mouthfeel, flavors tend to linger. Interesting, bold brewing here, I liked it.

Thanks IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours yellow gold with a creamy off-white head. Nose is honey, bread, sweet citrus, sugar, and booze. Flavor is the same with caramel, honey, booze, sweetness, and floral aromas. Medium bodied and enjoyable overall.

Bright gold, small white thin head. strong honey aroma, very much like mead. incredibly sweet, one sided. enough pollen dryness to keep it from cloying on my palate but this is honey all over.

Lightly fruity, musty odd spices, kind of hot smelling. Not too plesant. Golden pour not much in way of head. Lightlt metallic, dusty, phenolic, touch medicinal in finish. Not my favorite from a great brewery.
