JB175 (1319), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 29, 2008 Bottle from bu11seye - thanks! This one pours to a pretty ruby-brown with no head. Aroma is quite funky and sweet - bretty hints mix with a sugary-raisin essence. Flavor is funky with some raisin, dessert wine, and brett. Mouthfeel starts nice, but gets really thin at the end. Interesting one - could have been better. Reminded me a bit of the Iron Hill Barrel Aged Quad w/ Brett but the lack of carbonation and softer base beer lost me just a bit. Still a damn fine experiment!
AgentSteve (736), Livermore, California, USA Jun 12, 2008 On tap at the brewery, poured a deep prune color with no head. Rich, complex nose with oak, Port, funk and fruits. Flavor was the same, with a bit o’ heat. Nice smooth finish. heemer77 (3632), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 8, 2008 Noogfest ’08. Thanks for sharing, beerguy101. The body was black. The aroma was vinous with some caramel. The taste was venous with some grapes and caramel. An interesting combo and a good brew. aracauna (2238), Georgia, USA Jun 3, 2008 This one is a bit tart. There’s a lot of overworked yeast in the aroma, but not a lot of other stuff you’d expect from a real weizenbock. Very boozy, the flavors in this one just weren’t for me
