Bottle thx to Sune. Hazy and amber coloured with almost no head. Nice and tart. Quite well balanced with notes of cherry, sour apples, barnyard and cherry stones.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared by Frumpty- pre-camping BCTC 2008. Pours a medium dull amber with fizzy diminishing white head. Aroma is nice funky flemish red, with nice fruity cherry notes but has a pretty sharp prickly vinegar acetone bite and some sweet and sour notes with slight salty soy oxidation. Flavor is fruity cherry over some more red wine vinegar, oaky vanilla and barrel, sharp slight salt, acidic, almost a strawberry note/? Some solvent as it warms with the acetobacter. Actually seemed pretty good with the extra fruitiness.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Small nip bottle courtesy Beervirgin. Pours a very cloudy orange color topped by a small white head that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma was really nice with hints of sour cherries, oak, tart fruits, tannins, and pommegranites. The pommegranites add just a touch of sweetness. The flavor follows with the sour cherries and oak upfront then followed by white grape skins, tart citrus, and some pommegranite sweetness. Really nice blend of the flavors with the vinuous oak tying things together well. Medium bodied and finely carbonated with a nice tart finish. I wanted to keep drinking this all night. The pommegranites added a nice touch to everything. Really glad I got to try this one.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
RBSG09 notes. A standout for the night (and there was a lot of competition at the tasting). Great flavor combination dominated by sour cherries and a lasting finish of pomegranates and wood. Heavy for a lambic with caramel malt shining through the sour fruit, unusual for a kriek, but it worked for me. Appearance was a reddish brown with a nice enough head for a lambic. The sourness isnít too intense although there is a healthy vinegar flavor to it. Some brett flavor.

Bottle. Courtesy of Aspidites (Thanks Mike) and shared amongst friends. WOW. Flavor is REALLY full of pommengranites. Expected more sweetness but got lots of tart! I think I may have made a sour beer face on this one.

Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. Very sour. Lovely fruit. Really good fruit, lovely cherry. Bit of funk. Lovely sour fruit, have I said that already? Lacks a little structure but one of the better American sours.

A Mes rate: bottle at the ever brilliant Chris Oís Pre GBBF Extravaganza.
Red-ish amber with a thin white film. Excellent cherry and superb fruit all round. Jesus this is really good. An exceptional flemish sour base, the tarty fruit and oak are just about perfect and the balance of sweet and sour is right up there. Itís not huge, itís not particularly complex, but bugger me, itís a belter. Balance, finesse, stunning palate topped of with an amazing sour, then sweet, then sour finish. Bloody excellent.
