Miver (376), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle shared by FrumptyDumpty at Glimmerglass pre BCTC ’08. Thanks! Poured an cloudy bright amber in color with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is very tart with cherries and brett notes. Tastes of sour cherries, brett funk, oak and vanilla. Nicely carbonated body and quite a nice Kriek in general. goldtwins (3721), Nesconset, New York, USA Aug 18, 2008 RBSG ’08: Poured a hazy amber color with an off-white head. Tart fruitiness with a base of malt and some leather funk. Excellent tart and acidic flavor. Very nice cherry and fruity taste. Medium bodied. illinismitty (1397), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Aug 18, 2008 RBSG grand tasting courtesy of Aspidites. Pours amber with reddish hues, off white head. Very nice oaky, sour cherry, and funky aroma. The flavor has great balance between the wood, cherry/cranberry (I guess it was pomegranites), and dark belgian malts. Dry finish that is tart and acidic without going over the top. Very enjoyable beer, but I have yet to submit this rating to Ross for approval- one to see if it met his cut off for quantity of ratings per 24 hours, and two to see if I had enough ounces to warrant a rating (since I did not drink the entire bottle by myself). So far, Valley Brew is impressing me quite a bit. I need try more stuff. JMFG (1086), Florida, USA Aug 10, 2008 Courtesy SoLan. Cloudy copper color, light white head at the edges. Tart sour acetic notes along with an earthy cherry tone. Tastes great - sour cherries, oak, white pepper, nice long sour finish buzzes on the tongue for a while. Well-carbonated. Very nice. DA (2376), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 6, 2008 On tap at the Stone Brewery. Pours mohogany with a thin white head. Acidic and tart throughout. The cherry didn’t seem to be the focus, more soft and around the edges, more gueze-like flavor to it with just a softer tart cherry finish.
