Mr. Brown is definately not your average Brown Ale. In fact, we would classify it as an Imperial California Brown Ale, if such a style existed. Big malty up front with a monster hop finish. Weighing in at 6.8% and with 81 IBUís it is not for the weak of heart.

Valley Brew tasting Feb 2007 - Aroma is sweet chocolate malt, toasted nuts, and hops. Flavor is much hoppier than aroma which is different for a brown. Palate is smooth and creamy. I like "imperial browns".

Hoppy and dry nose, two things I do not expect from a brown ale. This is what a California brown should be. Clean roasted nuts malt body with a big hop punch in the eye. Nice and dry with a great big hop finish.
