3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A truly pitch black stout covered by a short-lasting dark tan cover. Oily, strongly roasty, chocolate chip cookies and fruity impy. I love how it unveils more and more dark fruits as it warms up: from blackberries to blue grapes, to strawberries all the while a strong anise component keeps up. Itís a more aromatic than most example, though itís also smaller than average, reflecting Altimariís preference for balance in its normal lineup. So think various dark fuits and slightly burnt chocolate chips cookies touched with anise and youíll be close enough. Solid, but not particularly distinguishable.
