hellomynameis (743), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA May 27, 2008 Amber coloured with a decent sized off white head that dissipates into just a coating. The aroma is awesome, lots of fresh hops with lots of different aromas, especially considering this is a "west coast" IPA. Excuse me, DIPA...As Stine says, dank weed scents are present...a bit strange I think, but all things considered it’s not a bad thing. Other than that, the hops are a bit floral with a few hints of resin. The palate is awesome, it’s commanding in the mouth but it’s not too thick and isn’t syrupy. The flavour is fantastic, very well balanced with loads of malt, sweet wonderful malt. There is a feeling of the hops loaded into this beer, but they present themselves in a very interesting way. They are there, but not overly bitter. Some resin, a bit of grapefruit, and a tad bit of bitter. Really well made, lots of great flavours. Worthy of its spot.
DA (2421), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 30, 2008 RBSG 2008. Big hop bomb, but one of those that is done right. Loads of floral hop flavor, the bitterness is there, but restrained. Tangerine flavors blend with the chewy caramel base, finishing with resiny grapefruit. Very well put together. hapjydeuce (564), Carlsbad, California, USA Aug 7, 2008 RBSG ’08. Sampled from a growler that AgentSteve was carrying around towards the end of the evening. Some carbonation with a small bit of white lacing. Deep amber color. Huge aroma of pine tree and hop resin with loads of caramel malt. Very malty base with sappy grapefruit spice in the flavor. Huge body on this one, you can really bite into it. Nearly endless bitter and spicy hops finish. Apparently it was a few months old; I’ll bet its epic when tasted fresh. Thanks to AgentSteve for pouring me a glass of this! yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 Thanks to aspidites for this - although someone else poured it. Hazy brown with a lacing tan head. Aroma is caramel and dense pinewood hoppy with a minor note of grapefruit. Flavour is dense hoppy and thick malty - sweet, solid brew. Very flavourful indeed. Grapefruity and solid bitter into the finish. Fantastic flavour. toncatcher (200), Santee - SAN DIEGO, California, USA Aug 4, 2008 Shared at the Grand Tasting, RBSG. Was it just me or does Uberhoppy have a serious malt backbone, don’t get me wrong it had some nice hoppy bitterness, but very sweet and creamy. padrefan98 (602), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Aug 3, 2008 From a bottle shared at the Grand Tasting during RBSG 2008. Mild hops with a very nice malty creaminess to it. I was really bummed to find out this was the only bottle. It was a great treat to try it.
