3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle this summer,
Weak memories of specific details but as a smoked beer this was very smooth, not annoying smoked malt dominant, like dunkel with touch of smoked. Taste was more sweet than casual dunkel or porter, malt oriented for sure, with touch of toasted or light roasted malts, medium+ bodied with quite thick texture. Very pleasant sample of mild, smooth smoked beer. Although aroma was pleasant, it was for too short time. Pours with beige soapy-frothy top.
PS: brewed only for Valmiera town annual celebration once per year in limited edition. But it could become casual for sure.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I would say a bit overrated beer. Got it from friend who was keeping it in cellar, so maybe there are some differences from "fresh" beer as this is no longer in shops. As far as I know.
Aroma is smoke like that’s no surprise, but a bit simple, no other real smells to point out. Colour is light brownish overall looks good. Carbonation is too heavy for me, very lager too me. Taste is sweetish, sure the smoke is there and it with some meat would go together well. After Mikkeller Beer Geek Bacon this is water. But overall beer is not bad by any mean just it doesn’t stand out so much.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle (thanks kalm&Mari). Dark copper color. Small size, whiteish head, stays. Smoked, slightly nutty, mellow sweetness in aroma. Overall aroma is weak. Bacon, smoked, sweet, malts in flavor. Very mellow mouthfeel. Perfect beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle - thanks Marduk!
Lovely sweet smokey aroma, reminds me of schlenkerla. Nice walnut colour, small tight head. Lovely smooth palate, soft, pleasant carbonation. Same taste, such soft sweet-feeling malts, the smokiness is so lovely. Exactly half way between Heller’s Marzen and their Ur Bock. Practically a perfect smoked.
