4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
0.5 l bottle from Kaubamaja, Tallinn. Non-pasteurized beer with all the taste left in it. Nice head and colour. Very complex taste with hops and leftovers of all kinds of bacteriae. I just wonder how great the unfiltered version would taste.

Nice and refreshing with that fine Latvian flavour of their beers. Nice and thick and golden in shape.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Definitely a positive surprise, although it is from quite standard concept what comes to production method and hops. Despite this it has very nice and fresh test, best in Latvia. Would win many IPA tasting competitions . Balanced taste, sweetness and sourness go hand in hand. Well done.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle from the brewery shop/café in Riga. Golden colour, large, quickly dissipating white head, aromas of caramel, fruit, bread and grass, pleasantly full body for a lager, taste is somewhat sweet while the aftertaste bitter. By far one of the better lagers I’ve had.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
From backlog/offline notes: On tap in Valmiera, Latvia. My first Latvian beer. Very full body, almost chewy. Medium carbonation. Lots of bready malt flavors. Slightly hazy look. Quite bitter. A little bit of hop aroma, but not much. Surprisingly interesting!

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clean golden color, small white head. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste has malts, grain, light hops, buttery, some grass and fruit notes - good balance of sweetness and dryness with hint of bitterness and in finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Quite decent lager, liked it.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle (at Riga airport).
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark yellow.
Aroma is moderately malty (wort, malt syrup, raw grain), with notes of apple butter and grape jelly.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, raw/husky, unclean.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation.
Based on this single experience, it seems possible that Latvian beer might be quite similar to Lithuanian...raw and worty and diacetyl-rich.
