Pretty good--some caramel/toffee without overly cloying sweetness; light enough to be refreshing (but strong enough to make sessioning a bit harder!)

Valmiermuiza Tumsais Alus: Look; good fawn head and dark ruby clear body. Aroma; dark fruits, dark malts, berries, floral notes. Taste; dark malts, dark toffee, grass, berries, flowers, basement notes - leading to a soft fine dark fruity finish with caramel and chocolate. Good texture and soft carbonation. A good brew. Idiosynkrasie (4922) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUL 4, 2015
500ml bottle [Big thanks to Tanja & Verena!]. Clear, dark, reddish, chestnut colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, treacle, a minimally grainy touch. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, minimally roasty, some malt lozenge, very cautious hints of bone-dry dark chocolate; a grainy and a wet strawy touch sadly cause minimal defilement.

Strong aroma, caramel taste rather strong on both taste and aroma. Also hopppy a bit overshadowed by carsmel.

Marstonlad (577) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 24, 2015
Pours black with a medium-sized head. The aroma features roasty, dark maltiness with caramel, bread and a touch of plum. Taste offers a balance of light sweet and light roasty notes. Caramel, rye bread and licorice feature, quite solid malt character. The palate is medium bodied, velvety smooth. Not bad, quite rich in dark maltiness and fairly full bodied for a dunkel.
