This ale has fruity/estery aromas with a slight herbal hoppiness. The flavors is much of the same slight fruity and caramel notes with more herbal/floral hops. The finish is dry and slightly yeasty. It’s okay, Your friends will like the bottle more than your tongue will like what inside.

Cloudy, brown/yellow pour. Big frothy head. Earthy, Belgian style aromas. Hints of banana and apricot. Somewhat sweet, a bit of metalic flavor. Dried fruit and figs. Too carbonated for my liking.

750 ml. bottle, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours pale golden with a huge fluffy white head and some lace. Aroma is sweet malt, floral. The taste is the same, kind of beery. Body is thin and watery, carbonation is high. Overall good, kind of boring, thin, probably won’t have again.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. I meant to drink this on Halloween. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a large cream-colored soapy head with excellent retention; leaves a little lace. Aroma is mostly faint, but it has fruity esters, mineral/metal, unclean. Taste has a nice Belgian yeast character; it’s sweet, spicy, savory, grainy, clovey. Mouthfeel is foamy with high carbonation. It has its flaws, but overall this isn’t too bad.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 unclemike (1889) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - NOV 10, 2012
deep blonde, big fluffy head. Light oxidation and ripe fruity aroma. Melons and sweet malts. Medium light body decent yeasty ester character, with a rather sweetish finish. Moderate to light bitterness and late hopping of a similar intensity
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (8991) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 1, 2012
750 c&c from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy gold with a 4 finger foamy white head. Aroma is primarily yeast/spice. Quite a bit of various fruit esters. Bubble gum through tropical fruit. Med body or better. Flavor matches the aroma. It’s complex in a light fruity way. Definitely Belgian ale!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 nearbeer (3048) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 31, 2012
750 ml. Lightly hazy orange-amber with a huge meringue of foam. Aromas of resin, toffee, light orange zest and banana. Taste is sourish orange, earthy toffee, resiny wood, spicy banana, pepper, and a flash of metal every now and again. Light body is too frothy for my tastes, but well balanced by a moderately bitter, pithy finish. Lots of complexity of flavors, but they just don’t quite mesh for me.
