Brewed since the beginning of last century, when the near-complete staff of the brewery went to see the circus of Buffalo Bill, leaving the boiling brewing kettle to the care of the youngest employee. This boy let the beer roast and caramelise on the bottom of the kettle, but after trying, everybody actually liked the "spoiled" beer, which became the brewery’s staple diet. This Belgian version is a lot weaker than the stout exported to the USA.

Sample from tap, CBF 2014. Dark brown colour with a medium sized lightly tanned head. Lightly roasted aroma with sweet fruits - some berries, caramel malts and light coffee. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture. Finishes dry and fruity with lightly roasted malts and honey-notes. Very easygoing, but rather subtle.

Bottle, thanks SirLimpsalot. Dark brown with a large head. Aroma and taste of light roasted malt, toffee and some berries. The body was light. Drinkable but nothing special.

@Stordirren: ganska enkel och typisk belgisk doft. Smaken är likaså med lite bränd kola, snäll och lätt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very dark, hard-to-see-trough beer with a slightly brown layer of foam. It has the aroma of forrest fruits like strawberry’s and raspberry’s. It tastes really bitter, but the hint of the fruits are still present. It leaves a dry palate and a bitter aftertaste.

Murky brown, ringed beige head. Skinny yeasty, apple skinned nose. Foamy separated sweetness, odd gristly malt and dank bitter finish.

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is herbal hops, some yeast, faint roast and liquorice. Flavour is mild, faint roast, faint hops, faint malt sweetness. Some wine like red fruity notes in the finish. Nice balance but overall boring.

Flaska från Belgoklubben. Mörkt rubinbrun med högt skum. Dofter av bär, karamellkola och lite metall. Lite oväntad smak där gammalt dammigt bibliotek dyker upp i associationerna. Torr komplex smak. Liten besvikelse i munkänsla och kort eftersmak.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2015 Dark brown ruby red mahagony coloured beer with a light tan small head. Noses light, of creme brule, caramel, soya, seaweed and a soft coffee note. On the palate a light fizz makes way to a soft light slick texture with a medium to full body. The finish lasts mediumly long and leaves a dry pleasant soft chocolatey-coffee-camomille note on the palate. Nice beer!

33cl butelka. OCZY : ma ciemno-brązowy kolor i jasno-beżową piane. NOS : zapach karmelu, kwiatów, trochę miód, orzechy włoskie, winogrona i gruszka. USTA : przyzwoicie gazowane o oleistej konsystencji i średniej gęstości.
