3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(25cl bottle, 5.7% abv on the front- and 6.5% abv on the back-label !) Hazy, dark brown coloured hue with yeast-flakes and a big light-beige foamy head. Quite strong roasty malty nose with caramel, licorice and sourish fruity notes. Moderately roasty bitter flavour with a mild malty sweetness giving balance, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasty malt-character with a light sourish fruity presence, rounded up with caramel, licorice and notes of chocolate; pretty dry and roasty bitter finish with a noticeable level of alcohol (21.V.09).

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, thank you very much pivnizub! Light sour nut, wood and chocolate aroma. Dark brown with a claret shine, low creamy brown head. Lightbodied, a bit hollow mouthfeel. Starts out wooden, chocolate, orangepeel, some metallic hops. Cherries retronasal. Fresh, but I really lack some chewyness to give the flavours substance.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Deep chestnut-ambercoloured, small foamy off-white layer; delicate sourish-fruity nose, supported by roasted barley and a tinge of brown sugar; moderate to robust sweetish-sourish flavour, medium bodied; roasted malt and a little trace of yeast in the sourish-fruity finish. Tasty brew, presumably a hybrid of a sweet Sout and a flemish Sour Ale............

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep dark brown coloured body with a fast-dying tan head. Bunches of bubbles rise from the bottom and sides, but are tough to see wih the opacity. Aroma of fresh malt, hops, sugar, yeast and a good amount of chocolate. Medium-bodied; Very effervescent; Strong assertive roasted malt with a candy-like sweetness following soon afterwards. Aftertaste shows more sweetness, chocolate, light pit fruits, yeast and a bit of malt coming forward. Overall, a pretty good and very sweet beer for the style. I was impressed with this one and I was glad I bought it! I sampled this 25 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 17-November-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 04-February-2009.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep ruby leaning towards black with a chunky beige head. Sweet roasted barley, liquorice, plum, hint of Germanic hop, faintly peppery coriander aroma unless I’m mistaken. Obviously a Belgian stout. Sweet, stone fruity, yeasty. Dab of clove. Lovely vanilla malty afters with hazelnut and noble hop touches. Bitterness liquoriced, not roasted. Looks stouty, drinks like a spiced dubbel or dunkel. Tasty, unstouty stout.
