Bouteille de 33cl. Couleur dorée, mousse abondante de tenue moyenne. Des arômes fruités, du houblons et une touche de bonbons/sucre Candy. Peut être un poil trop sucrée à mon goût, finale décevante. Carbonnation moyenne. Trouvée à Vanuxeem - Ploegstaert.

Bottle - best by 18/05/13 (so I probably should not have drank this). Didn’t have the gusher experience many have complained about but tons of foam on the pour. Pours and hazy gold with an insane amount of hop particles floating around. I don’t see anyone mentioning this so maybe an anomaly but I’ve never seen anything like this. About 4 fingers of beige head and protruding, abundant, seafoam lace. Notes of honey, grain, apple juice, booze. Medium body, assertive carbonation, light bitterness but slightly astringent. I’d like to say I should re-rate a fresh bottle but I’m probably going to pass on trying this again.

Douberd (2168) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - NOV 2, 2013
Bottle 330 ml at home, into a tulip glass. ABV 8% Nice label. Pours a crystal clear ale, golden orange in colour, sort of pale and faded. Huge white head, thick, with soapy texture, with its first part collapsing all at once at some point and the second part having a very good retention. Heavy and irregular lacing forms around the glass. Aroma has a light fruit sourness, with lots of yeast in it. A bit weird but addictive. Taste has the same funky character, but it doesn’t last for long, since a bitterness reaching quite high levels kicks in and stays there for a long, long time. Flavours of lemon as in lemon pie present, along with yeast. The alcohol very well hidden, no sign of it, at least on the taste. Medium thin body, good carbonation and high dryness on the palate. Overall very good, pleasant surprise.

Quack-Duck (7793) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 13, 2013
bottle. Clear golden yellow, mid-sized head. Malty, slightly hoppy. Nothing exceptional, but quite ok.

leaparsons (8019) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 11, 2013
Bottle. Hazy gold with a large rocky foam. Aromas are yeasty with lemon and toffee and biscuit malts. Key lime pie with some barnyard notes. Flavours are bitter, tart lemon with yeast and dry biscuit. Peppery with warming alcohol and more resinous lemon on the finish. Very nice.

kraddel (2958) - some beerplace, BELGIUM - OCT 11, 2013
bottle at bierhuyske pours clear blonde good white head bit hops in the smell taste is indeed bitter ( and sharp ) . not realy floral or aromatic, but i do get the hoppy aspect in the bitterness. good carbo . perhaps could use more aromatic aspects to go along with the bitterness, but than the name would obviously be rediculous . so hey, its good for what its suposed to be .

glennmastrange (2240) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - SEP 24, 2013
Bottle. Moderate grain for the malt, herbs and faint grapefruit for the hops, light basement for the yeast, with green apple and wood in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with a spot or two of lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy light amber. Flavor starts moderately to heavily acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, dry with a fizzy carbonation and a dry finish. Kind of bland overall, but plenty of bitterness in this Belgian String Ale.
