bottle at bierhuyske pours clear blonde good white head bit hops in the smell taste is indeed bitter ( and sharp ) . not realy floral or aromatic, but i do get the hoppy aspect in the bitterness. good carbo . perhaps could use more aromatic aspects to go along with the bitterness, but than the name would obviously be rediculous . so hey, its good for what its suposed to be .

glennmastrange (2253) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - SEP 24, 2013
Bottle. Moderate grain for the malt, herbs and faint grapefruit for the hops, light basement for the yeast, with green apple and wood in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with a spot or two of lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy light amber. Flavor starts moderately to heavily acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, dry with a fizzy carbonation and a dry finish. Kind of bland overall, but plenty of bitterness in this Belgian String Ale.

Trappist1 (492) - Diest, BELGIUM - SEP 13, 2013
Giet in met een wel erg grote schuimkraag, helder blond van kleur. Sparkelend.(iets teveel?) Gist in de neus, fruitige toets. Drinkt, zoals de naam suggereert, bitter weg. Zacht van afdronk, smaak vooral van voor in de mond. Goeie combinatie van bitterheid met fruitige toets. Mooie balans.

From bottle into Duvel tulip. Hazy orange-gold with a bunch of suspended sediment. Head is huge, shaving cream, with specks of tiny brown yeast scattered across the top. Aroma is fruity, with a nice backbone of gueuzy funk. Very pleasant, balanced beer.

Bottle 0.33l from Dranken Geers Gent. Pours golden yellow almost clear with big white head. Aroma is fruit with hops. Medium carbonation and soft feel. Taste has a very good balance between bitterness, fruit (citrus) and hops. Aftertaste is a long bitterness. Overall a remarkably easy going belgian strong ale with the 8.0 ABV.

Sten (632) - Westerlo, BELGIUM - JUN 2, 2013
Nice golden coloured beer with a fluffy white head and lots of sediment. Flowers and hops in the aroma.Flavour is everything I expect from a bitter ale. Well balanced, hoppy and a long dry bitter finish. (Bottle 33cl)
