330ml bottle picked up from the fridge at ‘t Antwaerps Bierhuiske and shared with Finn at the hotel room. Pours a huge, rocky white head with fine retention and rings of lace. Hazy golden body. Grass hoppy nose with a spicy touch. Fruit hoppy taste together with caramel malts. Bittersweet end. Drinks quite well (Antwerpen, 29.04.2011).

Typical Belgian. Good quality brew but not very exciting. Very drinkable though. Clear yellow with nice white head and prickly carbonation. Flavor starts a bit sweet with some tartness and goes to a long mildly bitter aftertaste. There is some citrus, yeast, licorice and malts in the flavor. Enjoyed it.

Très forte amertume qui persiste longtemps en bouche, le houblon est très présent. Beau col de mousse, persistante, qui retombe doucement le long du verre.

Pours clear golden, orange with a big white foamy head. Aroma has citrus, typical Belgian-yeast, some sourness hidden. Taste is bitter (duh) with a bit of citrus and hops. Dull beer.

Duvel like colour and carbonation, but with more residue. Yeast and bitterness dominate, with only a bit of citrus. Some cabbage, cooked chicory. Long bitter finish. A bit one sided

Bottled. @ Degust. Full 33cl sample. The aroma has slight grain, citrus, grass and typical Belgian yeast tones. Bit hazy, yellow coloured beer with a white, lasting head. The taste is citric, yeasty and has big bitternes in the finish. Didn’t expected it to be 8%, more like 6-7. Pretty decent and tasteful.

One of those attempts by Belgian family brewers to connect with the new wave of IPAs in this country, since 2008. Snow white, creamy head, deep golden colour, aroma of pale malts, leafy hops, caramel, pear and some DMS (cooked cabbage); taste softly malty in onset, rounded, bit of caramel, quickly overpowered by a strong, citrussy and leafy hop bitterness, finish long and dry. I applaud all efforts made to make the Belgian public familiar with IPAs and this is no exception.
