Aroma of dark malt, caramel, yeast, hint of coffee. Flavour is medium sweet with a light bitter finish. Not much of a Stout, but a decent Belgian Strong Dark Ale.

Bottle. Dark brown body, small head. Medium hoppy aroma with sugar and mild roast. Something metallic too. Medium yeasty taste with a mild roast. Damp cellary malt and hops in the finish. High carbonation. No real character. What stout? This is an unremarkable Belgian dark ale. Please quit your false advertising.

An Imperial Stout is not very similar, most Belgian strong ale. Density is not enough. Coffee, Belgian yeast is.

Donkere chocolade bruine kleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt zoetig, drop, en nog iets. Smaakt zoetig, laurier, drop. Raar biertje.

330ml bottle. Clear brown color. Medium size, thick beige head, stays. Belgian yeast, somewhat fruity, faint alcohol, slightly metallic notes in aroma. Caramel, Belgian yeast, alcohol, faint roast, liquid chocolate ice-cream in taste. Noticeable alcohol in aftertaste. I’m not sure what it tries to be.

Poured a reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma of roast malt and sweet berries. Medium body, flavour as the aroma, reasonably bitter. Not an Impy by any standard.

Kauge (445) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 7, 2015
Bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn. Dark brown with a big-bubbled creamy head. Good retention and lacing. Nose... sweet dark dried fruits, roasted malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, vinegar and spiciness, rather like cinnamon. Taste is dark dried fruits like dates, roasty and moderately caramelly sweet, also a bitterness joining in the finish, combining with dry roastiness and a chocolaty sweetness. Smooth on the palate with very thin carbonation, body on the minus side of mediumish. A strange hybrid of a brew - I was disappointed at first but later on it grew on me.
